Happy Birthday & Goodbye Our Love ---
A special fundraising serenade to Maya our dog
Born: July 15, 2007
RIP: March 7th, 2016

My family was on vacation in Florida early March and sent our dog Maya to a doggie groom & board in Richmond to be looked after. In the afternoon of March 7th, Maya was left unattended and somehow was able to exit through the main door, ran out to the street and hit by a car. She sustained serious injury and was sent to an animal hospital where she passed away. Devastated, we cut our vacation short and headed home with tears in our eyes. We were not given a chance to say a proper goodbye to Maya who had always been an important part of the family. Two months have passed but the void left behind by Maya is still hanging in the air. Sadness roams over us whenever we think about the pain and suffering Maya had to go through during her last moments, helplessnessly and all alone! We understand that all pets do leave us when the moment comes and we do believe Maya is now in dog haven, but we miss her nonetheless.
However, it is time to move forward and put the love and memories of Maya deep into our hearts. What better way to do so by transforming our tears and thoughts to something meaningful? Our love for Maya has become the motivation to host a fundraising evening at Kaya, when the net proceed of the evening will be donated to PADS (Pacific Assistance Dogs Society). Here are the details:

When: July 15th, 6pm to closing
What: A "For the love of all dogs” Evening - A tribute to dogs who make a difference in our lives.
